of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. John 1
Jesus is that sword, that word of God, just like He is our salvation, our righteousness and our truth.
When He walked this earth, He didn’t take away all the pain, but He bore the death of it all on the cross. Every heart ache. Every pride. Every death, injustice, brokenness, depression, fear, bondage.
He made it all redeemable.
Nothing is a dead end, not while there’s life in our lungs. He will redeem it all and use it for our good and His glory.
What’s the worst that could happen, dear reader, one that would break any girl’s heart- the husband could cheat and leave and break your heart. The pain would stay… but every bit of it… redeemable!
Sometimes we pout over burnt cake, a forgotten item at the store, annoying noises from people in our home, losing something, an unexpected bill.
Is God the sword? or not? That Word that is described as: Sharper than any double–edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit,
joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. … Hebrews 4:12
Those attitudes of pride… we really pout because of pride… we think it all depends on us, but He saves us in spite of us and offers redemption each and every moment.
Peace says His cross. Nothing can overcome you.
But it doesn’t leave us immune, like plastic church people.
He makes us holy.
‘Cause warriors carry swords and battles aren’t easy.
So, rise up brave warrior and take that sword… You are an overcomer of darkness. You don’t play religious games. You don’t perform. You have a King, who says, “Get your wisdom from Me”. Jesus said,“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16) He is your source, your all. Because, dear reader, we aren’t on a cruise ship, but a battleship. You’ve been given a sword. Now stand. And fight with your double edged sword, humble warrior.
In Christ Alone,
